The
White Tail Guest Ranch is your
Montana vacation headquarters
For
almost 70 years the White Tail Guest Ranch has been attracting guests
to experience Montana's amazing scenery and wildlife. Our pristine location
in the Blackfoot River Valley, adjacent to the Lolo and Helena National
Forests and the Bob Marshall Wilderness area, makes it an ideal place
to visit if you really want to see Montana at its best.
We are a small resort and we like it that way. We are small enough to
afford you individual attention while offering you exciting ranch
activities. We want you to feel right at home and well taken
care of. We can customize the right vacation for you and your family.
We call it a vacation with just the right personal touch.
A ranch vacation includes 3 home
cooked meals a day, a private cabin,
horseback riding, and other ranch amenities. Get up in the morning to
another great adventure or just relax creek side right outside your
cabin door.
In 2006, your hosts, Bob and Carol Blanchard, are looking forward to
greeting our return guests, and making friends with our new guests.
We are waiting for you in one of Montana's last best places. You'll
want to come back again and again.
History
Tom
Edwards established the White Tail Ranch in 1937 and began leading trips
into the adjacent mountains. These mountains later became known as the
Bob Marshall Wilderness Area. Known to locals as "The Bob,"
this wilderness area encompasses 1.5 million acres of protected forest
accessible only by trail.
For 30 years Tom, later known as "Hobnail Tom", led many hundreds
of people into the Bob. It was his passion. The beauty, mystery and
power of the Montana wilderness was his gift to others. The North Fork
trailhead still bears his name and we carry on his passion and commitment
to share this wonderful place with our guests.
In 2004, Joel and Sandy Jewett purchased the White Tail Ranch. Joel
grew up in Great Falls, Montana. His grandparents owned a cabin in Lincoln,
Montana and he spent many summers exploring and fishing near the White
Tail Ranch. Joel met his wife Sandy while going to college in Missoula.
They have looked all over Montana for the perfect place and they believe
they found it. It's the White Tail Guest Ranch. For Joel, it was like
coming home.
